July 1947
The company started.
Gakan Nishimura and his associate started the design and test manufacture of a camera.
Dec. 1950
“Konan 16” was perfected. The development of a variety of amateur use cameras and a special camera for data collection, establishes the company's strength in the compact camera field.
Dec. 1951
Konan Camera Research Institute Inc. established with capital of ¥250,000.
Aug. 1958
“Hand-held type compact eye fundus camera” developed. Entered into the field of medical equipment. Build to order manufacturing started of the data processing equipment for medical use including “Medical-use Binocular Operation Microscope”, “Electrocardiographic system”, “Coaxial Headlight”, etc.
Nov. 1959
The magazine developed for “Single-8 System”, cinecamera using 8mm size film, which made filmmaking become popular.
Dec. 1961
“50x Projector for Shipbuilding” developed. This opened up the possibility for photographic technology to be used toward industrial applications. As a result, a development project covering a variety of different industries, such as photography and shipbuilding, was formed to initiate research for “EPM system. “
Sept. 1962
“EPM System” was perfected allowing the company to become a pioneer in the combined-industry joint development project.
Dec. 1971
Marked the 20th Anniversary and the Research Building completed.
Mar. 1972
Automatic monitoring, judgment/ recognition and recording completed through the use of optoelectronics that were designed to develop the automated inspection/ measuring system. “Automatic Scanner for Checking Scratches in Steel Material” developed.
Sept. 1973
4 companies jointly established Techno Bank, a technology transfer service company, for the purpose of promoting technical exchange between different industries.
Nov. 1974
An inspection system for use in iron mills was perfected making use of TV and computerized graphics processing technologies.
July 1975
Production and marketing of the medical equipment begun. Marketing of the operation microscope “K Series” started.
Mar. 1977
Maintenance-free “Marking System” developed.
Sept. 1979
“Specular Microscope” for observation of endothelium developed.
Aug. 1980
New office building completed.
July 1981
Production and marketing of color scanner/ setter "CORACER" begun.
Aug.
A joint corporation Konan Keeler Ltd. established with Keeler Limited of U.K. to begin marketing medical equipment in Western Japan.
Sept. 1983
Hydromicroscope developed.  The state of particles(microorganisms) can be observed with the external monitoring TV.

Marketing of Operation Microscope “CLM” begun.
Sept. 1985
Konan Common Co., Ltd., a maintenance servicing company for medical equipment established. (Merged to Konan Medical, Inc. in Oct. 2008)

Marketing of “Konan Clinical Specular Microscope 580” begun.

Konan Keeler Ltd., Tokyo Main office opened to begin marketing medical equipment in all over Japan.

Marketing of Konan full Automatic Cell Analysis System KC-2300 Series begun, which reduced the time to 20 seconds to automatically analyze the corneal endothelial cells.

Marketing of Specular Microscope “Noncon ROBO PACHY” begun, which enabled to measure the corneal thickness.
